Job Summary:

As a Configuration Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain the consistency of special machine configurations within Windchill. This includes making necessary updates to bills of material (BOMs) and working closely with sales to define configurator logic using option codes. You will also be tasked with creating compatibility tables to define compatible option content. Another key aspect of your role will be to receive sales codes for sold machines and use these to generate Windchill variants. In addition, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of the design team's output. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our product configurations and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems.

This role works onsite in our Batavia, Ohio facility in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Work You'll Do:

  • Assist in machine concept and layout development.
  • Collaborate with design engineers for option compatibility and uniformity.
  • Liaise with sales engineering for compatible features.
  • Update Windchill configuration based on customer requests.
  • Offer user support for Windchill and Creo.
  • Establish and uphold engineering standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with various teams for design modifications and manufacturing procedures.
  • Independently resolve technical issues.
  • Capable of cross-cultural collaboration.

Team:

This role will be part of the Milacron Engineering team in the Batavia, Ohio facility.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in design or bills of material (BOM) management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of bills of material (BOM) and product life cycle management (PLM) tools/concepts.
  • Experience with CAD software and PDM systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Creo and Windchill software.
  • Background in industrial equipment design.
  • CAD administer experience.

Physical and Sensory demands are representative of an employee working in a fast-paced office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision requirements are good general vision, the ability to distinguish between colors, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Office environments. The employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock, and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting, etc. The employee in this role will work in the office environment. The noise level is moderate; safety boots and eye protection are required in the shop.
