Job Description
Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCB) has an immediate full-time opening for a Counselor/Therapist to provide day to day coordination of our Connections Program and provide mental health therapy to individuals, couples, and families.  This position is part of our Child & Family Services division and serves a wide variety of clients in Cincinnati/Hamilton County.
The ideal candidate will have a LSW or LPC with 2 years of supervisory experience.


GCB incorporates principles of trauma informed care in all areas of our services.  Trauma informed care includes cultural sensitivity and emphasizes a safe and respectful environment for all clients and staff. Experience and/or training in these principles and in trauma treatment is valued in applicants.  

Provides Integrated Counseling Services:
  • Provides expertise in utilizing therapeutic techniques appropriate for each client’s needs, to include Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and other best or evidence-based practices.  
  • Provides individual, couple, family and group therapy as dictated by client needs.
  • Works collaboratively with team including other therapists, care managers, supervisor, clerical support workers, and psychiatrists to provide service to clients.  Ongoing com­munication is necessary with all team members.
Provides overall management of assigned programs:
  • Works cooperatively with Developmental and Disability Services and other outside agencies to actively promote all services Accountable for assuring team meets fidelity standards for all evidence-based and best practices.
Position Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in social work or counseling from an accredited college or university or within 3 months of completion required.
  • At least two years of supervised experience in the field required.
  • Licensed as LSW or LPC required.  Counselor Trainee or Social Work Trainee will be considered.
