This position involves working with behavioral health consumers in all phases of the employment process including: vocational assessment, job readiness, job development and job search, and employment support. The job duties require knowledge of the population served, vocational rehabilitation, educational resource connection, service coordination, interagency collaboration, and local job market. Specialized employment services target consumers with mental illness, developmental disabilities, cognitive disabilities, physical disabilities, and substance use disorders, as well as targeted programming for adults, youth, people experiencing homelessness, and legal refugee and immigrants.
Employment Specialist - Part Time position available working with clients who are in the corrections system!
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for marketing Vocational Programs to business community and referral agents.
Develop individualized employment plans for clients with severe mental illnesses and other barriers to employment.
Network with a variety of Human Resources departments to place these clients in competitive jobs.
Provide job coaching/employment site support services to clients.
Responsible for providing services including one-on-one career exploration/job development sessions, resume development and critiquing, individualized job searches, job/task analysis, orientation and job training, and other on-site and off-site training and support as required to assist clients with severe mental illnesses and other barriers to obtain and maintain employment.
Collaboration with other service providers and/or treatment team and other supports.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Services or related field with two years related.
Experience with the criminal justice system preferred.
Position requires use of personal mobile phone. Position requires frequent driving of own vehicle. Valid driver’s license, vehicle and insurable driving record are required.
