Job Description

Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCB) has immediate openings for School Based Therapists!  Join our multidisciplinary treatment organization as a member of School Based Services team.  Through counseling, care management, and group services, GCB’s licensed therapists help students and families realize their potential and overcome challenges.  Schools see better academic performance, and the community at large benefits from having healthier children and families.

Full time (Summers off), must be available for some evenings.

GCB incorporates principles of trauma informed care in all areas of our services.  Trauma informed care includes cultural sensitivity and emphasizes a safe and respectful environment for all clients and staff.   Experience and/or training in these principles and in trauma treatment is valued in applicants.  

Position Responsibilities for School Based Therapist:
  • Provide mental health therapy services in a school based setting.
  • Attend unit meetings and case staffings as required.
  • Connect with principals, teachers, students and parents to develop rapport and trust to grow caseload.
  • Document services for billing.
Position Requirements for School Based Therapist:
  • Master’s degree in social work or counseling required.
  • Licensed by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker Board 
  • Prior experience working with children and families through work experience and/or internships.
  • Be flexible to negotiate the politics of the school.
  • Proficient at medical records documentation.
