Job Description

GCB has an immediate opening for a SUD Counselor (Substance Use Disorder) at our Batavia location! This position is part of the Dynamic Families Team. This position is a full time job and eligible for a full benefits package! 

The ideal candidate will have a LCDC III or be licensed as a LPC or LSW and have experience working with individuals substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment.  We offer free continuing education credits to maintain your license and tuition assistance benefits to obtain your master's degree ($1,500 per semester for MSW or MA in Counseling).

Position Responsibilities for SUD Counselor:   
  • Completes treatments plans on individuals seeking services for Substance Use Disorder(s).
  • Facilitates therapeutic cognitive behaviorally based groups for Substance Use Disorder treatment.
  • Conducts individual and family counseling sessions.
  • Makes appropriate referrals for further counseling and services to improve client’s quality of life and improve likelihood of recovery.
  • Provides case management, linkage and/or referrals to appropriate school, employment bureau, housing, health facility, or other community resource in order to enhance the client’s quality of life and improve likelihood of recovery.
  • Keeps accurate and up to date clinical records meeting agency, state and accrediting board standards.
  • When needed, may provide care management services including possible transportation and/or contact in the community.
Position Requirements for SUD Counselor:
  • Ohio LCDC III, LSW, or LPC required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Service or Addictions Field preferred.
  • Master’s Level in Social Work or Counseling preferred.
