GCBHS has an immediate opening for a Peer Recovery Coach. This is a full-time position responsible for providing engagement, recovery support services, education, resources and guidance to individuals who are currently experiencing issues with substance use disorder in Clermont County. Applicants must have an active Ohio Peer Support Certification and lived experience of substance use disorder and active in maintaining recovery for a minimum of twelve months.
Participates in face-to-face outreach efforts to individuals experiencing substance use disorder in Clermont County.
Assists clients in accessing community resources i.e.: housing, treatment services, applicable benefits, job placement, etc. as determined by client assessment.
Provides resource, treatment & sober support information to individuals interested in recovery.
Provides recovery education and support to persons with substance use disorder.
Assists with implementation of individual client recovery plans.
Position Requirements:
High school graduate or GED.
Ohio Peer Certification required.
Lived experience of substance use disorder and active in maintaining recovery for a minimum of twelve months.
Knowledge of substance use disorder system, mental health system, and homeless community-based services strongly desired. Individual must have demonstrated ability to respectfully motivate other consumers to act on their own behalf and to participate in activities.
Drug test required.
Position may require frequent driving of the employee’s personal vehicle. Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurable driving record may be required.
