Job Description

GCBHS has an immediate opening in Cincinnati for a Case Manager/Clinician to help individuals experiencing mental health disorders and homelessness in Cincinnati and Hamilton County.

The ideal candidate will have an Ohio LSW or LPC and experience working with individuals receiving treatment for individuals with severe mental illness and substance use disorder.  This is a great position for someone with a BSW/LSW or MA/LPC who wants to get experience and attain their independent license!  We will consider MSW/MA students with an active SWT or CT license.  The applicant must be able to pass the LSW or LPC exam at the end of their trainee license.  We offer $1,500 per semester tuition assistance for a MSW or Counseling degree.  We also offer free license supervision hours and continuing education credits.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides case management services to individuals receiving treatment for severe mental illness and homelessness.  This includes transporting clients in your own vehicle with travel reimbursement.
  • Provides expertise in utilizing therapeutic interview and assessment techniques appropriate for each client’s needs, to include MI, CBT, DBT and other agency endorsed practices.  
  • Coordinates and developments appropriate treatment recommendations which will include services and assistance necessary to achieve specific objectives, as well as identify the intensity and duration required of services.
  • Assesses potential for danger to client or others and effectively intervenes.
  • Works collaboratively with team including other care managers, supervisor, clerical support worker, and agency psychiatrists to provide service to clients.  Ongoing com­munication is necessary with all team members. 
  • Diagnoses appropriately using DSM-5.
  • Assists the client in increasing social support networks of family, friends and community groups.

Position Requirements: 
  • Ohio SWT or CT license required.  The applicant must be able to pass the LSW or LPC exam at the end of their trainee license.
  • Ohio LSW or LPC preferred.
  • Pay differential for LISW or LPCC.
  • Position requires driving own vehicle and transporting clients.
  • Experience working individuals receiving behavioral health treatment.
