APCO Worldwide, Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic paid intern, interested in supporting global projects, clients and new business opportunities within our Middle East portfolio. Candidates should have working-level proficiency in Arabic and be comfortable using it to summarize from Arabic to English.What does it take to become a part of the APCO Internship Program?RESPONSIBILITIESDraft briefs for new business opportunities, client proposals, factsheets, press releases and editorial content;Monitor issues or news events, and research topics and issues and analyzing findings;Provide remote assistance in event production projects for clients based in the Middle EastIdentify and compile lists of media contacts and/or other stakeholders;Edit and proofread client deliverables;Assist in the development of client proposals;Attend local events in D.C. and provide summary reports on the presentations;Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSA recent graduateor; currently enrolled in an accredited university or college as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student;Arabic language skill, intermediate proficiency and above in speaking and reading/writingThe ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and attentive to detail;Applicants are expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills and experience successfully balancing multiple tasks;Experience living or working abroad preferred;Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office;Former internships or work at communications agencies, federal agencies, international organizations, the U.S. Congress, or in state and local government are welcome, but not required.Candidates must be able to spend at least 30 hours per week in the office and will be assigned to theOffice of the Executive Chairman (OXC).Interns will have the opportunity to work with other practices within APCO (public affairs, corporate communications, global marketing, creative & digital, health care & health policy, crisis management & litigation communication, insight/research, and human resources). Additionally, APCO provides stimulating experiences including lunch & learns and hands-on experience in the communications industry.OXCsupports our founder and chairman, Margery Kraus, on a range of new business proposals, events, support of key global APCO clients, and thought leadership content.Our team is dynamic, fast-paced, cooperative and consistently operates at a global level. All interns will engage in a wide variety of subjects related to foreign affairs, international business and geopolitics. Daily tasks will include media monitoring, research and general support for a various clientele.
