The intern will support the work of IRI's Middle East and North Africa Regional Division. Interns will learn about time management and work on tasks in a fast-paced international affairs environment. Other professional learning opportunities include attending virtual events and panels and relevant democracy and governance program support.This position will start September 9, 2021 for no more than fourteen (14) weeks and may not be extended. This is a paid position, at $15.20 per hour.In-Person and Virtual applicants encouraged to apply.Position Requirements:Current undergraduate or graduate program student or recent graduate.Excellent verbal and written skills in EnglishFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and SharepointDetail-oriented individual with strong organizational skillsFlexibility to changing situations and prioritiesKnowledge of Arabic and/or French is preferredPossible Functions & Responsibilities:Assists staff with program activities, virtual events and training missionsSupports database system and database managementMonitors domestic and international media outlets dailyAssists in researching and analyzing country contexts for weekly briefings, reports, program proposals, etcContributes to data collection, cleaning and analysisTracks, monitors, and maps relevant business development opportunitiesProvides administrative support, including scheduling virtual meetings/events, updating country factsheets, etc.Performs other duties as assignedLearning Outcomes:Gain familiarity and experience with democratic governance in the Middle East/North Africa regionDevelop program management skills, including procurement administration.Gain working proficiency in database development and maintenance.Gain exposure to program design and implementation, including work plan development, financial planning, and monitoring and evaluation.Experience with translating academic evidence and applied research into programming tools.Gain exposure to institutional learning and knowledge management processes Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
