JOB SUMMARY:

  • Assist in achieving/maintaining quality standards necessary for certifications/accreditations.
  • Develops studies of quality/quality improvements related to cancer program.
  • Implements data collection and evaluation for identified studies/quality improvement projects
  • Is identified as the liaison for surveys involving the cancer program
  • Reports cancer center quality goals and project results to facility wide quality council as requested.
  • Utilizes available oncology-related standards/guidelines (NCCN, ONS, etc.) to identify Medical and Nursing Performance Improvement (PI) opportunities.
  • Provides reports for the Cancer Committee, Breast Leadership Committee, and all other quality meetings as requested.
  • Provides reports for Oncology Nursing Service related to Nursing Staff activities.
  • Reviews all occurrence reports for oncology, discusses at quality meetings, and develops a plan for improvement
  • Works collaboratively with Risk Management.
  • Supports and/or leads organizational and department specific activities outside of usual scope (e.g. outreach events), as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: At least 3 years hospital experience; oncology nursing preferred

Certifications: BLS, OCN preferred (nursing)
