Electrical Drafter, On-Site - Position and Responsibilities
As an on-site (at client) and in-office Drafter with Middough, you will provide drafting and administrative support for document controls. Drafters also apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provide drawing updates per engineering markups for as-builts and minor drawing revisions.
  • Work with a team to process client delivery of drawings and documents per established procedures.
  • Interact with document controls team and design teams.
  • Responsibilities for more experienced Drafters also include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Generate design and detail drawings including orthographics, plans/sections, and isometrics.
  • Assemble and maintain project files (e.g., flat files, reference/stick files, CAD drawings) as directed by the Project Lead.
  • Generate plan drawings, wire diagrams, schematic diagrams, motor control instrument loop drawings and installation details.
  • Interact with Discipline Lead to complete project scope.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • High School diploma required.
  • A CAD certificate and/or Associates degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of drafting experience preferably in a refinery, or a continuous process chemical plant.
  • Proficient in computer functions required to perform 2D CAD.
  • Experience using AUTOCAD for electrical or instrument drawings preferred; will provide on the job training if needed.
  • P&ID experience preferred.
  • Proficient in all standard drafting techniques preferred. 
  • Familiarity with typical I&C drawings (Loops, Cabinet Layout/Wiring etc.) and electrical drawings (one lines, conduit and cable schedules, area class etc.) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities for efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
  • This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
