Position Title: Machinist, CNC C

Essential Functions:
- Interprets mechanical drawings and blueprints received from supervisor and/or engineering
- Operates all machines in department such as the CNC, drills, buffers/grinders, etc. without assistance
- Sets up all CNC fixtures and tooling for each specified job, except for the Hurco machine
- Create minor programs for all machines, except for the Hurco machine
- Effectively uses computerized Information Center to retrieve product/process information
- Effectively uses Smart Team Application to verify prints and revision levels
- Visually inspects material during the machining process to prevent defects and scrap
- Responsible for quality of finished product
- Provides written suggestions for continuous improvement
- Assists with training of others
- Strict compliance to FDA and ISO control standards and record keeping
- Adheres to all safety policies
- Performs predictive/preventative maintenance as necessary
- Maintains safety and housekeeping standards in accordance with 5 S principles
- Complete all required training applicable to assigned position
- Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, gauges and measuring equipment proficiently
- Flexible to perform a variety of tasks
- Demonstrated ability to create minor programs
- Assists with altering programs so tools and parts are running properly
- Working knowledge of CNC techniques normally acquired through post high school coursework and/or 1-2 years of hands on experience
- Understanding of tools and tool offsets
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours
- Bending, twisting and/or squatting may be required
- Demonstrated flexibility in attitude and willingness to work in all areas as needed
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow work instructions
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to cart up jobs for all machines
- Demonstrated ability to set up custom fixture jobs on all machines
- Demonstrated ability to make minor program changes to ensure product quality
- Ability to work overtime with little or no notice
- Ability to be cross-trained
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of quality standards to apply visual inspection
- Knowledge of proper problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate basic information regarding processes and quality related questions
- Must have thorough understanding of quality systems and their relationship to job performance including ISO Overview, corrective/preventative actions and work instructions
- Must have physical ability and manual dexterity necessary to perform the duties pertaining to job
