The DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) Support Specialist will assist the Manager of Sales Support/DBE Liaison with First Transit's fulfillment of all DBE (MBE/SBE/WBE, etc.) contract requirements as required per the Request for Proposals (RFPs). This includes, but not limited to reviewing RFP documents for DBE requirements, posting DBE Good Faith Effort (GFE) advertisements, outreach and follow-up with potential vendors, completing required forms, assisting with outreach events and any other tasks to ensure all DBE requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in implementing, administering, and monitoring process of DBE Outreach to ensure that First Transit is responding to RFP in compliance with the DBE contract provisions.
  • Verifies all potential DBE vendors have the applicable certification/s, NAICS Codes, etc. as required by the RFP.
  • Provide DBE vendors with additional project information and support as needed, ensuring they are aware of all RFP requirements and deadlines.
  • Identifies and participates in outreach activities to recruit potential DBE's for the program to increase DBE contracting opportunities and the pool of available DBE vendors.
  • Analyze, summarize, and support the implementation of contractual requirements once contract is awarded and transition information over to the compliance department.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in public administration, Business Administration, law, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a related field or other highly regulated industry is required
  • Ability to review and interpret RFP and contract requirements
  • Experience with auditing or documentation verification required.
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret applicable regulations and contractual obligations
  • General knowledge of the needs and concerns of participants in a DBE program
