About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]


Responsibilities include:

  • Safely loading/unloading poles, material, equipment, and supplies to and from trucks and trailers.
  • Operating forklift trucks and other material handling equipment
  • Preparing material, equipment, and supplies for shipment and completing necessary shipping paperwork
  • Dispersing material, equipment, and supplies utilizing proper procedures
  • Receiving, restocking, and adjusting inventory of returned materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Performing minor maintenance and repair work on material-handling equipment
  • Keeping storeroom and storage areas in a clean, safe and orderly condition, free of fi re and physical hazards
  • Responsible for safety of self and co-workers


Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must satisfy the requirements of the EEI Support and Administrative Selective System (SASS) testMust possess valid driver's license
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 110 lbs.
  • Experience preferred in material warehousing and in the safe operation of forklift trucks and other materialhandling equipment
  • Good oral and written communication skills

EEI Testing

We administer selection tests for a variety of positions. The required tests have been developed by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a trade association of investor-owned electric utility companies. We strongly encourage potential employees to review all information, including the sample test brochures, and to use the available practice tests before taking the actual tests. Practice tests provide sample questions and detailed discussions of the correct answers. It's important to take the practice test as you would the actual one, with similar intensity and concentration. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.

Note: EEI website does not allow access to actual tests. Testing is held at various locations throughout our service territory based on where the job is located.
