We're seeking a future team member for the role of Group Manager, Events & Experiences to join our Marketing and Communications team as a senior member of the Events & Experiences Center of Excellence. This HYBRID role is located in New York, NY

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead and implement the firm's event management function for BNY Mellon's Pershing line of business and elevate our brand through innovative events, large-scale conferences, dynamic brand activations, integrated event marketing programs, tradeshows, and sponsorships.
  • Manage a global team of event professionals including coaching, talent development, performance management, and resource allocation.
  • Partner heavily across the organization with marketing peers and senior stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into clear experiential and sponsorship strategies with measurable impact. Successfully deliver event concepts, programming and production that consistently raises the bar, deepens client relationships, and drives commercial growth.
  • Manage global events budget, ensuring disciplined spend management and optimization of internal and external resources.
  • Manage a diverse variety of our most complex business events (both proprietary and third-party), elements of which include agenda development, vendor management, risk management, contract negotiation, expense management, food and beverage management, audio visual management, budget reconciliation, event analysis and measurement.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • 12+ years of related work experience in a high-growth, client-centric environment, including event marketing leadership within a large global matrix organization. Extensive background developing and delivering successful multi-scale, ROI-driven B2B events across regions, including strategy, programming, sponsorship, design, and execution. Ability to provide best-in-class deliverables and results through all stages of the event lifecycle.
  • Events SME with comprehensive knowledge of event marketing and sponsorship strategies, and a deep understanding of event operating procedures and best practices. Big picture thinking with meticulous attention to detail and ability to improve and raise the bar on event experiences. Knowledge of the financial services industry and experience delivering events across multiple client segments.
  • Skilled people leadership and ability to attract/cultivate top talent and manage/motivate a globally diverse, results-driven team. Demonstrable strategic and creative thinking skills, effective decision-making skills.
  • Superior verbal, presentation and written communications skills required, proficiency in PowerPoint. Superior collaboration skills, team-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize; never afraid to pitch in and roll up your sleeves. Ability to rapidly pivot from one project to the next, work well under pressure and manage deadlines.
  • Expertise with Cvent or relevant event technologies. Ability to travel or work off hours/weekends as needed. Bachelor's degree in marketing or the equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification a plus.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $98,000 and $166,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
