A Brief Overview


The Vice President of Business Development establishes the business development vision and creates the strategic plan to drive sales, increase revenue, expand lines of business, and achieve designated sales targets. This leader evaluates new and growing markets and creates relationships with strategic business partners and channels to target and attract new customers. This individual is future focused and stays abreast of changing market trends and identifies new and adjacent lines of business to maximize the company's continued growth opportunities.

What you will do

  • Establishes the strategic growth vision and creates a detailed plan to identify and optimize changing market trends to support the continued growth and development of the business to meet and exceed sales and revenue growth targets.

  • Fosters relationships with adjacent businesses and identifies opportunities to partner with or acquire emerging market capabilities that support the company's growth and development.

  • Attends industry conferences, follows industry trends in the automotive, insurance, and local and global business markets and identifies potential new revenue streams, pricing and brand positioning and or industry threats and proposes business development plans to capitalize on these opportunities.

  • Conducts feasibility studies and negotiates funding to support the development of future growth initiatives.

  • Collaborates with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to implement strategic growth plans and measure sales and revenue impact. Adjusts the plan based on real-time data and input.

  • Oversees, directs, develops, coaches and inspires their direct reports to achieve and exceed sales and revenue growth targets.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Marketing, or a related field. Required

  • Master's Degree Business, Marketing, or a related field. Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 10+ years Business experience, managing large marketing initiatives identifying business trends and proposing growth plans. Required

  • Ability to create strategic plans and identify critical milestones (High proficiency)

  • Presentation and influencing skills (High proficiency)

  • Negotiations skills (High proficiency)

  • Written and oral communication skills (High proficiency)

  • Networking and building industry connections (High proficiency)
