Overview

HILGARTWILSON, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Project Engineer-Site Development to become a part of our growing company. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be highly organized, be a good problem solver, be efficient, pay good attention to detail, and be a team player. HILGARTWILSON has extensive experience providing services on many of the Valley's largest and most prestigious master-planned communities, retail, office, educational, healthcare, mixed use developments and public works projects. Ideal candidates will have a BSCE degree and preferably be licensed in the State of Arizona as a Professional Engineer. A strong background in one of more of the following is preferred: land development & infrastructure (residential communities) or site development. Project Engineers at HILGARTWILSON have potential for advancement and other opportunities throughout the company based on sound technical skills, strong communication skills, business acumen and enthusiasm to join a successful and growing organization.


Responsibilities

  • Prepares reports, final design plans, technical specifications, and other technical documents with limited assistance.
  • Responsible for quality control, schedules and plan production.
  • Delegates work within team and gives team technical guidance assuring design is technically sound and cost efficient.
  • Partially responsible for team morale, team efficiency, and monitoring performance of team members.
  • Coordinates with team members, staff, municipalities, consultants and clients.
  • Provides highly technical design and quality control.
  • Processes plans and resolves issues with plan reviewers.
  • Evaluates and anticipates design risks and opportunities.
  • Assists with project and team management.
  • Mentors other design staff in areas of technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years' experience in land development or site development engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), AZ P.E. preferred or ability to obtain AZ within 6 months.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required, Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Computer design skills including spreadsheets and scheduling.
  • Capable of preparing design on most projects.
  • Possess understanding of civil engineering principles and construction plans.
