Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead purchasing activities for the plant. Includes sourcing strategies, risk mitigation, supplier development, and purchase-price negotiations.
  • Manage and lead Material Control activities for the plant. Includes establishing best-practices for material flow using Lean principles, controlling indirect headcount, and providing superior service to Production.
  • Manage and lead all Shipping/Receiving activities for the plant. Includes overseeing logistics, packaging, accuracy, and data management. Also includes negotiating freight rates and minimizing expedites.
  • Manage and lead Planning/Scheduling activities in the plant. Includes short/term/long-term forecasting for all customers, using SAP Capacity Planning to determine headcount needed for specific volumes, critical review of BOM's for accuracy, and ensuring 96+% on time delibery to all customers (while maintaining target-specific inventory levels).

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 4 year Bachelor degree or higher in relevant field required.
  • 5+ years experience in high-volume manufacturing company. Tier I automotive experience preferred..
  • Experience must include direct exposure to OEM-style customers.
  • 2-3 years experience with supplier selection and development. Must have ability to formulate and negotiate successful commercial strategies for Hydro Extrusions.
  • 3+ years in Production Scheduling. SAP experience required (SD and MM modules)
  • 3+ years in supervisor/management role. Demonstrated leadership of a high performance work team is mandatory.
  • 3+ years experience with design of successful material flow concepts, approval of packaging designs, freight route planning, and successful implementation of material handling/storage concepts.
  • Must follow Plant-wide safety policies/procedures at all times.
