Job Description

Job Title: Material Procurement Planner

Location: Columbus, Ohio

The opportunity

The Material Procurement Planner is responsible for conducting sourcing activities from both local and international suppliers, supporting the procurement teams and operational objectives to attain business targets in quality, delivery, cost-effectiveness, and project management, doing this all with a customer-first mindset. All activities will fully support operations and resourcing strategies both locally and globally.

You will make an impact by....

  • Owning the procurement process, ensuring all purchase orders are processed timely and accurately, and driving process improvement along with tactical sourcing projects
  • Managing and utilizing material requirement (MRP) to plan and execute purchase orders
  • Managing open order book due/overdue with suppliers
  • Executing pull-in/push-out/cancel recommendations, communicating these with suppliers, and obtaining agreements
  • Maintaining and enhancing positive business relations with suppliers
  • Coordinating with strategic purchasing to execute purchasing strategies and vendor escalation
  • Researching past due and mismatched invoices and assisting in reconciling invoices to PO's for payment
  • Coordinating production scheduling to align components required to support OTD

The talent we want to inspire has..

  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing Management, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field required or 6-8 years of experience in buying
  • Engineering background and/or the ability to read, understand and explain engineering drawings and/or working knowledge of Solid Works PDM strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & manage multiple projects/priorities at a time
  • Cross-cultural understanding and ability to work with colleagues globally.

This would be a plus but not a must!

  • APICS and/or ISM certification
  • SAP experience
  • Lighting manufacturing procurement experience
