POSITION OVERVIEW/JOB DUTIES:

  • Performs setup, calibration, maintenance, programming and operation on a variety of machining equipment including, drill presses, milling machines, computer numerically controlled (CNC) and hydraulic presses to assemble and/or fabricate parts and complex assemblies.
  • Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed.
  • Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers. Troubleshoots, debugs and modifies to achieve expected performance.
  • Performs routine maintenance and clean up on.
  • Sets up and operates a variety of hand tools such as hammers, files, dremels, drills, presses, low temperature ovens, pullers and hand grinders to perform various operations such as blending, chasing threads, deburring, angle checking, coldworking metals, masking, and braze application.
  • Working independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality.
  • Computing and verifying dimensions to ensure accuracy.
  • Observing all applicable safety practices and immediately reporting any unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Cross trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
  • Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
  • Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision.
  • The ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints.
  • The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • The ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Understanding of manufacturing, tool design, fabrication methods and processes.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be a US Citizen
