We are seeking an experienced National Tax Technology Leader to join our Tax leadership team. This pivotal role involves the selection, integration, and operational management of tax tools and solutions for over 2,000 tax professionals nationally. Reporting directly to our national Tax Services leader, you will need to comfortably navigate both strategic and tactical landscapes, manage relationships with third-party vendors, and lead internal teams. Prior leadership experience in technology for Tax services (US corporate & retail / consumer) as well as specialty capabilities / solutions is an absolute minimum. Expertise in building vendor / partner relationships and establishing a high-performance techno-functional team to support the growing practice is required. We're particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI) as part of a rapidly evolving Tax technical eco-system, and those who can champion these areas of innovation within our tax operations.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Lead the selection, integration, and operational management of innovative tax tools and solutions, data analytics, automation, and AI technologies, across the firm in collaboration with internal teams and third-party vendors.
  • Oversee the technical operations of our tax tools, ensuring efficiency, compliance with industry standards and adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
  • Manage the technology integration process for any acquired tax accounting firms, coordinating risk management and ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making within the tax leadership team, utilizing your expertise in tax technology innovations.
  • Deliver technical and strategic presentations to CPAs and other accounting audiences, effectively communicating complex concepts and solutions.
  • Lead, develop, and enhance a growing team of technical tax professionals, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 25 years of professional experience in a top 10 public accounting firm, ideally with a focus on tax technology.
  • CPA certification and additional tax credentials and certifications
  • Proven experience in the selection, integration, and management of tax tools and solutions, with a specific emphasis on data analytics, automation, and AI.
  • Familiarity with managing third-party vendors in Tax Solutions and handling technology integration in a merger or acquisition context across multiple entities concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to diverse audiences, including CPAs and other accounting professionals.
  • Strong program management skills with a proven track record in leading large-scale initiatives.
  • Ability to think strategically while also driving tactical execution.
  • Experience in leading, growing, and enhancing teams of technical tax professionals.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8 years of experience in related field
  • 6 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage deadlines
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments and prioritize accurately
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally (and externally as applicable)
  • Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills
  • Must be able to travel based on department needs

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $250,000- $450,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
