Position Summary:

This position will provide support to the assigned Value Stream in the planning and procurement of all related materials to ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer and business expectations. Responsibilities include the execution of procurement functions to prevent shortages by analyzing incoming orders to manage purchase orders for manufacturing demands.

Work You'll Do:

  • Support Value Stream team in meeting all Value Stream financial objectives (Revenue, OTD, GM%, Cost Savings, Inventory Turns, etc.)
  • Interact with colleagues in the Value Stream to proactively solve stock issues and improve processes
  • Maintains open communication with Supply Chain Management and the Value Stream Team to ensure manufacturing and inventory plans are clearly understood and fulfilled.
  • Prepare, review and publish monthly and/or weekly schedules as directed by management.
  • Proactively provide supply status, resolve availability issues and provide tracking information to internal customers.
  • Support on-time delivery and inventory reduction through visual kanban systems.
  • Order materials on assigned categories/suppliers from ERP reports to meet production needs
  • Maintain and monitor Item master data; revise essential system planning data to ensure E1 is effectively planning future requirements
  • Monitor and take appropriate action on engineering change notices.
  • Actively escalate supplier issues through management and up through the appropriate channels
  • Expedite and/or research missing, late or incorrect orders
  • Discuss and resolve pricing, quality or delivery issues with management assistance
  • Ensures that Lean principles are being applied with the right goal in mind: To sustainably maximize the delivery of value to the customer
  • Plays key role in SIOP process and advises on strategic plans for parts availability

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school with at least 5 years of either purchasing and/or manufacturing experience or combination of both education and experience.
  • Professional knowledge/training in purchasing/procurement and reconciliation
  • Ability to multitask-processing orders for multiple departments, units, and department managers
  • Ability to communicate, recommend, and expedite process improvements and document area processes
  • Interpersonal skills- interacts professionally with customers, vendors, employees, and stakeholders
  • Ability to demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress situations, priority changes, or new assignments
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge from working within ERP systems, Oracle JD Edwards is a plus

Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of purchasing experience
