Instructional Designer

The Opportunity:

Do you want to develop training that will transform national security? As an instructional designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can't have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical tradecraft requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an instructional designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges in the Air Force by crafting effective training.

On our team, you'll work with SMEs to capture your customer's training needs and recommend the right learning solution to help them accomplish their mission. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you'll design asynchronous material. You'll build training material with graphic artists, following the ADDIE model.

You'll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new instructional design ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom. You'll use cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies to shape a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you'll meet with SMEs throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you'll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model, then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. We focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers, so you'll learn new tools and skills to develop a creative learning experience that will engage students.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with creating high-quality, interactive, and effective learning solutions for classroom, web-based, or webinar delivery

  • 1+ years of experience with instructional strategy, instruction, or design methodologies for adult learners

  • Experience with designing, developing, and delivering instruction to online training platform

  • Experience with creating learning models and instructional material, writing learning objectives, and designing delivery formats, including online courses, instructional manuals, and audio and video tutorials

  • Experience with researching new innovations in learning design and education

  • Experience with assessing the effectiveness of training and implementing all feedback

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with the intelligence community and open-source intelligence analysis

  • Knowledge of the U.S. Air Force

  • Ability to design, develop, and deliver online instruction

  • Bachelor's degree

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,800.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
