~Vice President, Mandate Monitoring Analyst~ (Hybrid)

We're seeking a future team member for the role of VP to join our Mandate Monitoring team.. This role is located in Boston, MA and is a hybrid position.

What we do: (team overview)

Purpose and context of the role.

  1. Mandate Monitoring provides complete, independent and timely pre and / or post trade monitoring of all mandate, prospectus, regulatory and other in-house investment guidelines.
  2. Provides insight to the business on the causes of breaches, and actively consults on their prevention.
  3. Supports on project related work to improve Mandate Monitoring processes.

Role dimension.

  1. Product set: All internal client, segregated, and regulated portfolios.

Relationships (Internal and External).

  1. Front Office, Client Services, Finance, and HR.
  2. Compliance, Risk, Controls, and Internal Audit.
  3. IT, Project and Transformation Teams.
  4. Other Operations teams.
  5. Outsourced service providers.
  6. Clients and consultants.
  7. External Auditors

The successful candidate will: (role responsibilities)

Outcomes.

  1. Perform daily post trade exception monitoring and other manual monitoring activities.
  2. Identify and manage risks and ensure that adequate control processes exist and operate effectively.
  3. Provide support to the Front Office on queries relating to post trade investment guidelines and exceptions.
  4. Maintenance of procedure documents for team tasks as required.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with UK and overseas business units.
  6. Assist with other Mandate Monitoring projects and initiatives.
  7. Support onshore in the review and interpretation of new and amended investment guidelines.
  8. Provide training and advice to other Mandate Monitoring team members on areas of expertise.

Key Performance Indicators.

  1. Key performance indicators and service level targets met.
  2. Assigned project deliveries within agreed timescales.
  3. Neutral/ positive compliance/ audit comment.

Experience & Qualifications:

Qualifications.

  1. Experience in Mandate Monitoring an advantage.
  2. Degree.
  3. Candidate would be encouraged to work towards and gain the IMC.

Skills/ Knowledge.

  1. Experience using BRS Aladdin and JPM TRAC an advantage.
  2. Excellent organisational, time management and decision-making skills.
  3. An understanding of the investment management process across the full range of asset classes and client types.
  4. An understanding of Mandate Monitoring processes including interpretation of discretionary client investment management agreements.
  5. Knowledge of UK, Irish, US, and Luxembourg regulations with respect to retail funds.
  6. Strong IT literacy as a business user.
  7. Self-motivated.
  8. Excellent communication skills - verbal & written.

Experience.

  1. Experience of Mandate Monitoring with an investment management organisation in relation to ensuring compliance to Investment & Borrowing Powers and client investment guidelines an advantage.
  2. Experience to include rule coding and exception monitoring and resolution with investment managers.
