Responsibilities

Summary:

The Category Product Manager will build and execute an integrated marketing strategy for Cardio Partners focused within the Sudden Cardiac Solutions AED and Equipment portfolio. The role ensures the product mix meets customer needs and maximizes company profitability. Establishes and directs the development and implementation of customer programs, campaigns, sales tools and resources that align with organizational goals and objectives. The role is responsible for vendor relations and contracts with key vendors for the business.

Organizational Impact:

This role provides critical strategy and execution of solution-oriented marketing strategies which will enable the sustained growth of Cardio Partners in the key AED and Equipment categories. This will directly influence Cardio Partners' ability to reach more customers and put life-saving equipment and training in the hands of more communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops detailed business and marketing plans in conjunction with appropriate internal and external personnel to support the objectives of the organization
  • Establishes pricing strategy for respective AED and Equipment category to ensure competitiveness in the marketplace while maximization of gross profit
  • Owns the go-to-market strategies to achieve sales, profit, and market share goals and other specific results that benefit the company
  • Translates company objectives and value proposition into marketing messages, tactics, and content to support demand creation and conversion for Cardiac Response
  • Researches customer product needs and category profit opportunities and collaborates with Sales, Product Management, Purchasing and New Product Development to fill category gaps and enhance profitability
  • Negotiates vendor contracts, marketing co-ops, rebates to ensure business has best in class product acquisition costs.
  • Develops customer targeting, segmentation, and category messaging in collaboration with Sales and Product Management
  • Owns planning and execution of programs and campaigns
  • Works with cross-functional teams on campaign calendar and execution planning
  • Partners across internal teams to develop and implement optimal customer experiences
  • Develops sales tools, content, and marketing campaigns that drive market share expansion, accelerated growth and target achievement
  • Partners with Website and Marcom teams to ensure category content, product descriptions, and merchandising are correct and educational resources are positioned and utilized effectively
  • Collaborates with other Product Managers to develop and execute programs that drive demand generation and sales success within specified categories
  • Partners with Sales and Product Management to ensure product mix and promotional opportunities are consistent and coordinated
  • Evaluates and identifies category sales training needs and develops training and education
  • Manages development of competitive market information specific to the category
  • Coordinates management of promotional funds ensuring they are used according to guidelines and in support of the overall marketing and sales objectives for category
  • Conducts monthly and quarterly analysis of performance vs. sales and profit goals as well as performance vs. program goals
  • Manages development of dashboard reports to monitor performance of category business plans and regularly communicates results to all necessary parties
  • Works with Sales, Product Management and other cross-functional teams to develop quarterly and annual marketing plans
  • Works with Marcom and Product Management leadership to develop category marketing budgets
  • Attends regional, are and national meetings on an as needed basis
  • Develops and manages the category trade show strategy and attends national trade shows on an as needed basis


Skills/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA a plus.
  • 3+ years relevant marketing or industry experience, preferably in healthcare or medical devices
  • Market research and strategic planning experience
  • Strong communication skills, writing ability, and project management experience
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to think strategically and understand the big picture, but also execute with strong attention to the details.
  • Translate and communicate business and market needs to achieve alignment among multiple stakeholders to deliver projects on time with high quality.
  • Financial and analytical skills with the ability to pull together and analyze data to articulate trends and provide insights that drive the business.
  • Understanding of new product launch processes coupled with an innovative, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Experience working with and directing creative strategies and tactics.
