Job Description

Essential/Key Functions:

In this job role you will posses/perform following but not limited to...

  • Manage the Software & Control Test lab
  • Managing & Performing the tests required for the enhancement of technology & performance of Milacron product lines & its sub systems
  • Develop skills on various control/drive systems used by Milacron for its product lines.
  • Posses strong analytical skills & upgrading it on a constant basis
  • Performing the tests for the need of Control division while collaborating with the Technology groups of Milacron.
  • Managing & performing the tests for generating a comparative database on performance of the key control components used in Milacron's product lines
  • Generate various useful data analysis in a systematic approach to drive & support the Control groups for taking right decisions.
  • Utilizing DFMEA & similar processes over the components like drives, HMI, control system used on Milacron product lines wrt NPD or Production lines and ensure that it establishes desired outcomes.
  • Utilize Verification and Validation methodologies to effectively address the reliability areas.
  • Use Continuous Improvement methodologies to improve effectiveness of lab & your function.
  • Manage the database of tests conducted in lab through a systematic data management process.
  • Supervising & managing the Lab technician
  • Regular review of the needs for maintaining the lab & its equipments, calibration status. Raise needs to keep the lab fully functional & advanced.
  • Report monthly performance data produced from lab to keep a track of its efficiency.
  • Partner with teams of Control, NPD & Engineering for establishing the well planned test roadmaps & timelines.
  • Partnering with Sales, Field service & Quality to identify areas for opportunity with clear data and a collaborative approach.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:

  • Total experience of 8+ years in field of testing, validation, R&D of control system or drive and electronics systems in the machinery industries with high/standard production volume.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Control or Electronics/E&E or Electrical Engineering, from an accredited 4-year college or university in a Technical or engineering-related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong experience in working with hardware/software used in control/drive systems
  • Experience on IoT, System integration, fieldbus communication protocols will be preferred
  • Strong analytical skills for an advance data analysis to drive the business needs on product performance & reliability
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in utilizing DFMEA and similar tools for an impact on successful product launches
  • Formal training in Reliability Science experience or other problem-solving skills is a plus.
  • Proficient in English language (verbal and written communications).
