Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Director of Patient Safety, this position works closely with Patient Safety Consultants, Patient Relations, and Risk Management on safety incident management and reporting within the organization.

This position oversees the Corporate Incident Reporting System and all of its associated modules. This position facilitates the integration of the different modules with, the various departments that utilize the incident reporting system. These include Risk Management, Pharmacy, all nursing units, and other clinical departments, within or outside of the principle hospitals, also those areas such as Security, Corporate Health, Human Resources, Purchasing, and Patient Relations that require special integration within the incident reporting system.

The system administrator works with all levels of TriHealth management and leadership to setup and maintain the timely distribution of information via system dashboards, maintains permissions and sets up severity alerts within the organization for serious and sentinel events.
The position works as a liaison with Information Systems who manages the server and data backups, with the TriHealth Connect team for data integration and real time reporting from TriHealth Connect and works with Nursing Quality and the IS Data Warehouse team for adverse event reporting and data interfaces in order to evaluate safety and events within TrihealthConnect.

This position provides facilitation, consultation, and project management to support the accomplishment of the organization's safety goals and initiatives. This includes providing clinical process input and analysis on events; consultation to all levels of leadership, physicians and team members; and facilitation of projects requiring analysis, process design, improvement planning, implementation planning and measurement/monitoring. This position also provides support towards TriHealth's adoption of high-reliability and other safety practices. Such duties might include project planning and design, implementation, and coordination of change management.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Health Related field, healthcare administration
3-4 years Clinical Experience
1-2 years experience, Healthcare Administration
RN Preferred

Advanced Certification in Patient Safety or Quality Preferred


Job Responsibilities:

Works with software companies to implement, maintain, support, and improve the corporate applications for Accreditation and Incident Reporting. Collaborates with IT and the Helpdesk in the event of outages or system downtime. Supports user feedback to improve the quality of the systems and the data by developing reports and forms used by the corporation.
Assists in the identification of trends within TriHealth related to Incident Reporting and Accreditation. Writes queries or utilize existing reports from current TriHealth systems such as EPIC or the TriHealth incident reporting system. Maintains a schedule of required reports and submits reports by their due date. Works with IS/IT teams to troubleshoot problems, suggest improvements or upgrades to the safety reporting system and database in coordination with the Director of Accreditation and Patient Safety. Oversees all software processes related to the integrity of the incident reporting system. Works with management review/revision of policies and procedures.
Develops and maintains all reports / dashboards required to support corporate incident reporting functions for TriHealth. Maintains and coordinates all Patient Safety related databases as well as select Community Health Initiative Data Bases.
Provide leadership in the facilitation of TriHealth's adoption of high-reliability and other safety practices. Such duties might include project plan design, implementation, management, and coordination of change management.

Assists in leading system-wide safety culture initiatives. This may include facilitating or leading process improvement teams, developing and delivering safety related presentation.
